Prescriptive Analytics

A type of business analytics.

Prescriptive analytics works on the raw results and makes more (human) sense out of them (e.g. shows which option is the best).

  • This is achieved through gathering data from a range of descriptive and predictive sources and applying them to the decision-making process.
  • Algorithms are used to create and re-create possible decision patterns that could affect an organization in different ways.
  • Prescriptive analytics emphasizes actionable insights instead of data monitoring.
